Fence Energizer

The fence energizer is the heart of your electric fence system and should be selected carefully to match your needs.

Since the energizer determines the shock level an animal receives and keeps the fence line powered, you should consider the following factors in choosing your electric fence energizer:

  • Power source of the energizer - AC Powered, Battery Powered, Solar Powered.
Type of animal you want to contain or exclude - stronger animals will need a more powerful energizer.
Length of the fence line - the longer the fence the more powerful the energizer needs to be.
Amount of interference - weeds and brush

Fi-Shock offers a number of options that provide different levels of power. For your convenience, we have grouped our electric fence energizer offering by:

  • Good - economic line for light duty needs that work well within a 10 acre range.
  • Better - excellent for medium duty needs and up to a 15 acre range.
  • Best - heavy duty line of energizers that effectively contain strong animals and/or cover up to a 20 mile range.
  • Kit Energizers - this line complement our pet containment, animal nuisance control, pond fish protection and predator exclusion pre-packaged kits.

If you are unsure of which energizer will best suit your needs, we recommend using our Fence Planner tool which will guide you through the entire fence building process and provide you with recommendations on what products you need to design and build your electric fence.

The location of the Fence Energizer is an important part of a working electric fence

Tip:
A good rule of thumb is to choose an energizer that has 25% more power than you need to allow for some weeds touching the fence.

The cost of operation is low, averaging around 14 cents a month.
