Planning Your Electric Fence

NOTE: The height and spacing of the wires will vary based on the size of the animal(s) you are containing.

 

We always recommend positioning one electrified wire at the animal’s shoulder height, so the animal will hit the fence with its nose.  This is an effective way of helping the animal learn not to approach the electric fence. The Defining Your Needs section covers the best design for different animal species.
