| Expert Tips The most common frustration with electric fence insulators occurs when the wrong insulator is used for the wrong project. Corner insulators take most of the tension of the fence, and as a result, the corner insulator may need to be different than the insulators used on the line. There are insulators that are specifically designed for corners and the end of the wire to handle the increased tension. Some insulators can provide double duty. For example, the Fi-Shock™ Model# SC-950 can cover the top of the T-Posts to protect animals from being cut on the sharp edges while also functioning as an insulator for wire, polytape, polyrope and wire. Pin lock insulators are best for fences that are already built and the wire is already stretched. Simply pull the pin, put the wire in the slot, and slide the pin back into the holes. The extension insulators such as the Fi-Shock™ Model# SC-20, SC-25 and the SC-30 can be used also when there is a grounded wire system on the posts. For example, when livestock start reaching over the woven or barbed wire, a strand of electrified wire along the top will break that habit quickly. Fi-Shock™ provides all the insulators that you will need for most electric fence projects. When used properly, they will last for years or a lifetime. |
